Remove Formula's from Your Excel Sheet !

Sometimes you don't want to let know, how hard you had to think about formula's to get a task done in excel and will never want to share it with others. Or due to maximum use of formula's in a single sheet, it has gone extremely heavy in size which can cause you trouble in presenting it to your authorities.

Well, There is a very simple way of getting rid of all the heavy duty formula's without tempering your data.

  1. Copy the cells that contain the formula's by pressing Ctrl+C or by clicking the copy button in the clipboard section of home tab.
  2. Go to paste options in the home tab
  3. Click the drop down arrow
  4. Click the 123 button in Values section.

The Match Function !

This function looks for an item in a list and shows its position. It can be used with text and numbers.
It can look for an exact match or an approximate match.

Syntax is
=MATCH(lookup_value, lookup_array, [match_type])

Meaning
=MATCH(WhatToLookFor,WhereToLook,TypeOfMatch)

The TypeOfMatch either 0, 1 or -1.

Using 0 will look for an exact match. If no match is found the #NA error will be shown.

Using 1 will look for an exact match, or the next lowest number if no exact match exists.
If there is no match or next lowest number the error #NA is shown.
The list of values being examined must be sorted for this to work correctly.

Using -1 will look for an exact match, or the next highest number if no exact match exists.
If there is no exact match or next highest number the error #NA is shown.
The list must be sorted for this to work properly.

I hope you find this function helpful,
